Higher Level
One of the many tiny finger like projections lining the small intestine. Villi greatly increase the surface area for absorption, and each one contains blood capillaries for sugars and amino acids and a lacteal for the products of fat digestion.
Ordinary Level
A tiny finger shaped bump on the inside of the small intestine. Villi give a large surface for absorbing digested food.
